Manzili House is a little piece of Lamu right here in Karen, Nairobi. We visited the houses and the beauty of the place pleasantly surprised us. Lamu style has me on a chokehold plus I also love Lamu (Shella especially), so when I walked into this place, I was truly blown away. What’s missing is a beach and palm trees; otherwise, it feels like you’re right around Shella 🙂 Henry & Mark showed us around the property. We shared some amazing stories and laughs — their service is tops as we really felt taken care of.
Manzili Nairobi sits close to many of the city’s top attractions. You’re just minutes from Nairobi National Park, the Giraffe Centre and the Karen Blixen Museum.
Wilson Airport is also a quick drive away, making travel super convenient.
The property features two stunning houses surrounded by lush gardens. Hence, you can book one exclusively for your group or reserve individual rooms depending on availability.
Either way, you’ll enjoy comfort, privacy, and a true home-away-from-home feel.
The main house has 4 bedrooms, sleeps 8 people and all rooms are ensuite. Each suite has a breakfast nook outside the room. You can enjoy meals there or the shared dining room space. Meals can be prepared for you or you can order in. The house also features a beautiful fireplace.
The second house known as Manzili Ndoto, accommodates a maximum of 4 people in 2 rooms. You can cook your meals here, order in or have the chef prepare your meals.
A fave for me, among the many things I loved about the place, is their roof terrace. You can host a Swahili dinner for up to 50 people while staying here. I could already picture an elegant Swahili dinner here for my guests.
They also put bananas in a feeder when you’re enjoying a sundowner, which attracts bush babies — isn’t that just cute?
If you crave Lamu vibes without leaving Nairobi, this is the place to be!
