Hugging the Tanzanian border in south Kenya, Amboseli National Park is just northwest (and offering spectacular views) of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak and the world’s tallest free-standing mountain. So rich in flora and fauna that it has been named a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Amboseli’s open savannah grassland habitat teems with wildlife, including elephants, lions, wildebeest, cheetah, zebras, giraffes, impalas, baboons and hippos, not to mention over 400 different species of birds.
