Sekenani Camp offers an authentic bush experience for visitors wishing to get close to nature.
Sekenani Camp is built in the riverine forest that surrounds the source of the Sekenani River in Maasai Mara National Reserve. The Camp was established in 1989 by Jean Marie Sabin and Nick Wood. It began very simply. In those days the tents were on the ground and bathroom facilities were rudimentary. Moreover, at night the camp was lit by hurricane lamps. In 1992, the transformation to a luxury camp began. These tents were raised onto platforms with wooden floors and full-length bathtubs were installed in each tent. These were the first tents with bathtubs to be constructed in Kenya. A generator was added to provide electricity. The camp has continued to evolve over the years.
Set at the source of Sekenani River, the camp offers a serene environment in which to relax, unwind and enjoy all the Mara has to offer. It comprises fifteen exceptionally well-designed tents set well apart to ensure maximum privacy. Each tent has a wooden floor and en-suite bathroom complete with a full-length bathtub. A combination of luxury and adventure, Sekenani Camp invites you to experience the Mara.
