The Sultan’s House brings the essence of Lamu, Zanzibar and the rest of the Swahili Coast, to the wilderness of the Ol Lentille Conservancy in Laikipia.

The house is built into massive stones with a soaring tightly-plaited papyrus roof. The exterior of the roof blends perfectly into the house’s rocky outer walls.

The property overlooks watering holes favoured by the elephants of Ol Lentille. The interior of the roof is a wonder of intricate craftsmanship. Architectural highlights are provided by lightly whitewashed boughs of African olive tree and delicate Swahili plaster carvings.
